|XS size fridge magnets from Camaloon|
Since our trip to Iceland in 2007, our son, Rory, has collected fridge magnets as souvenirs and this has proved to be a simple, cheap purchase to make and unlikely to cause any awkward parenting moments. We have quite a collection now but it has always frustrated Rory that we haven't any magnets from places we visited prior to Iceland, plus we forgot to buy one from Lake Garda and our magnetic bottle opener from Berlin is broken.
Camaloon came to the rescue. This cool, young company, based in Barcelona, offered to create some fridge magnets for me, using my own photographs from each destination. Why didn't I think of that before?!
I emailed over some images and they turned them into fabulous magnets. They sent me a selection of magnets: some were rigid with a shiny finish (Hunstanton and Rome) whilst others were flexible with a matte finish. Barcelona and Bardolino were classed as medium (105 x 74 mm), Berlin and Venice were small (74 x 52 mm). Despite my photographs not being the best quality (the Rome and Venice images were scanned from old snaps) the magnets look brilliant, even better than the photos below as the colours are sharper in real life.
These magnets were made for me, with little effort on my part, but to order online seems simple enough - choose size, type of magnet and have fun adding icons such as the heart next to Venice or a flower in place of an 'O' in Bardolino.
Of course, you can choose anything you like to go on the magnets: design something relevant to your child which you could then use to stick their artwork onto the fridge door? You could even experiment with the shape if you choose a flexible magnet: there are no limits to your imagination.
Camaloon also provide skins for iPhones and iPads plus stickers, buttons and wall stickers. It's a bright, fun site, easy to use and prices vary depending on how many of each you order. Delivery was speedy via DHL.
Camaloon provided me with a selection of fridge magnets at no charge, for review purposes. For further details on designs, prices and delivery, take a look at their website: Camaloon
